This is a pivotal time. My first big move. Minneapolis to Moorhead and Moorhead to Fargo were both tiny jumps. I have always lived within 3 or 4 hours of my parents.
Now Ill be in the realm of 13 hours away from my childhood home.
There are so many uncertainties: Job, cars, money, apartment.
Im nervous.
My husband and I have been trying to live cheap and build up our money stash. We both make little right now. I get nervous about how long we can afford an apartment . . . how long it will take me to find work . . . how well even get our stuff down there. Uhaul is not an option due to finances. Neither of us have good cars. Mine cant go. Too old. Too whipped. His could breakdown.
Im excited too.
Colorado is gorgeous. I was there once when I was 13. I went to Boulder and Denver and Estes Park. Mountains. I fell in love with the mountains. So tall and permanent.
I remember thinking, I am going to live here someday.
Fact: Fort Collins, CO is the second best place to live in the USA according to Money Magazine in 2008. Plymouth, MN is number one.
Excitement and nerves. Thats what I am.
We always have student loans to fall back on. Thats a safety net, if we must. Well be okay. Im proud of my resume and my husband will do great in graduate school.
